KAESER compressor block with energy-saving SIGMA PROFILE
Every KAESER rotary screw compressor block features rotors with the energy-saving SIGMA PROFILE, which is constantly being optimized in terms of flow technology. This plays a key role in ensuring that the entire system sets standards in terms of specific output. Single-stage compression with cooling fluid injection for optimum cooling, lubrication and sealing of the rotors guarantee a long service life and smooth running.
Thoughtful design
The screw compressors impress with their well thought-out, user-friendly design. The left-hand housing cover can be removed in a few simple steps to reveal the clearly arranged components: All maintenance points are easy to reach. When closed, the housing with its sound-absorbing cladding ensures a pleasant operating noise. With three intake openings, it also provides a separate air supply for highly effective cooling of the system, the drive motor and the control cabinet. Thanks to their design, the compressors are real space savers.
Flexible KAESER belt drive
KAESER KOMPRESSOREN was one of the very first compressor manufacturers to implement this type of drive. The automatic retensioning device keeps the transmission efficiency of the belt drive of KAESER rotary screw compressors at a consistently high level throughout the entire service life of the compressor. This also reduces maintenance costs.

The command center
The industry-standard control unit is equipped with a clear display and robust buttons. All relevant information is visible at a glance. The clear menu structure in combination with 3 selectable languages underlines the simple operation.
Security with RFID
SIGMA CONTROL 2 offers a high level of security thanks to the integrated RFID functionality (Radio Frequency Identification). It enables users and/or KAESER service technicians to log in securely and, in terms of operator liability, guarantees that no unauthorized person can operate the system or manipulate its settings.
Communication
SIGMA CONTROL 2 communicates internally with the compressor via inputs and outputs. The standard Ethernet interface enables integration into the SIGMA NETWORK. Connection to a network enables remote monitoring. The built-in web server allows the control panel, menu structure, operating parameters and message history to be displayed.
Update and save
Software updates and operating parameters can be installed or transferred quickly and easily via the SD card slot. This saves service costs. The SD card can also be used for (long-term) storage of important operating data.
Option "Connection to control technology prepared"
Optional (plug-in) bus communication modules (Profibus DP, Modbus-TCP, Profinet, Devicenet) enable external communication with building and control systems for remote control and remote monitoring of the compressor. Digital and analog inputs and digital outputs that can be defined via the operating unit enable the integration of external sensors and actuators.

Energy-saving control for screw compressors with add-on dryer
In order to reduce the energy consumption of the refrigeration dryer during compressor downtimes, an energy-saving control system is used for the add-on dryer, which switches the refrigeration dryer off in cycles.
Electrically level-controlled ECO-DRAIN condensate drain
The refrigeration dryer is equipped with an ECO-DRAIN condensate drain, which eliminates compressed air losses through condensate drainage. When the collection tank of the drain is full, a diaphragm valve is opened via a level sensor and the condensate drains off. The electronics ensure that the maximum required valve opening time is maintained, which is necessary to completely drain the separated condensate and still prevent compressed air losses.
Space-saving modular design and protection against radiant heat
The refrigeration dryer module turns the standard screw compressor into a compact compressor station. All components are easily accessible. This simplifies and speeds up all maintenance work. The dryer is installed in a separate housing. This protects it from the radiated heat of the compressor and increases its operational reliability.
High-quality heat exchanger
The generously dimensioned and contamination-proof heat exchanger system is equipped with an energy-saving air-to-air heat exchanger and air-to-refrigerant heat exchanger. The integrated, specially adapted condensate separator ensures optimum separation.
Note on projects with the KAESER SM 16 T screw compressor
Please note that additional compressed air treatment components may be required for your project planning. The compressed air always contains a certain amount of solids/dust, moisture and a residual oil content (hydrocarbons in aerosol/vapor form). Depending on the application, a certain degree of treatment is therefore required (see ISO 8573). We will be happy to advise you on this.
