Double pipe nipples
Pipe double nipples for piping systems
Pipe double nipples are essential connecting pieces in piping systems. These short pipe sections with external threads on both sides are used to connect pipes when a longer connection is required or direct screw connections are not possible. To meet your requirements, we offer pipe double nipples in various lengths, diameters and materials as well as with different thread types.
Materials for pipe double nipples
- Brass: Corrosion and rust resistant, ideal for humid environments and applications with water. Brass has excellent mechanical properties, is durable and is often used in heating and cooling systems. However, it can lose strength at high temperatures.
- Stainless steel: Highest corrosion resistance makes stainless steel ideal for aggressive environments, including chemical and saltwater applications. It offers high tensile strength and withstands high pressure and temperature, while retaining its mechanical properties even at high temperatures. Stainless steel has a long service life and requires little maintenance, but suffers from lower thermal conductivity compared to brass.
Dimensions and threads
The length of the pipe double nipple is crucial for a secure connection. It is important that the diameter, nominal size and thread type are suitable. Typical thread types are
- G thread: Straight, parallel threads that usually require a seal.
- BSP thread: Conical pipe double nipples according to British Standard Pipe, which also require a seal.
Other requirements
For many projects, secure sealing of the pipe double nipples is essential to prevent leaks. This may require the use of sealing materials or sealants around the threads. In addition, specific operating conditions such as pressure and temperature must be taken into account in order to select the right material and specifications. We are happy to assist you in selecting the ideal pipe nipples for your applications.
