Proportional control valves - Precise control for fluid-carrying systems

Proportional control valves are a special type of control valve that are essential for the operation of fluid-carrying systems. These valves control the outlet quantity directly proportional to the inlet quantity, which enables precise control of the medium flow. FILCOM provides you with products that are made of high-quality materials and guarantee a long service life. We offer a variety of components with different connection diameters and permissible operating temperatures that are optimally matched to your piping systems.

Control valves - Essential accessories in fluid preparation and control

Within fluid-carrying systems, the pressure must always be within permissible limits. Both too high and too low pressures can pose a risk to the system and its functionality. Too high a pressure can lead to an overload, while too low a pressure can cause the system to fail. Control valves regulate the flow of the medium according to the setting of the regulator. Technical flow regulation is achieved by adjusting the opening diameter of the valve. The diameter of the orifice determines whether and how much medium flows through the pipes.

Functionality of the proportional control valves

Proportional control valves can be precisely controlled by applying a control signal. In water-bearing systems, several control valves are usually required and, in the event of a defect, replacement is necessary to prevent uncontrolled entry or exit of the medium. Proportional valves are ideal if the volume flow needs to be controlled continuously. These valves are equipped with a solenoid coil or a linear motor, depending on the version.

Special features of proportional valves

The main function of proportional valves is to control the direction and quantity of the medium in the lines. The particular advantage of proportional valves is the ability to regulate the outlet quantity in direct proportion to the inlet quantity. In mathematics, the term "proportional" describes the relationship between two variables. If one variable changes, the other changes in the same proportion. When controlling the medium flow, this means that a doubling of the input quantity is also reflected in a doubling of the outlet quantity. This property enables precise and simple control of the medium.

High-quality materials for a long service life

As control valves are in direct contact with the medium, they are exposed to an increased risk of corrosion. High-quality materials, such as galvanized surfaces, offer excellent corrosion protection, which significantly increases the service life of the valves and prevents damage. In addition to protection against corrosion, our materials are characterized by their durability and high load-bearing capacity.
