Adolf Würth Airport in Schwäbisch Hall not only stands for modern infrastructure and reliable flight operations, but also for responsible action in challenging times. In a joint project with Filtration Group Industrial, the airport's control tower was equipped with the SilentCare air filter. Clean air is essential, especially in confined working environments such as air traffic control – especially during the coronavirus pandemic. The use of the mobile air filter has since ensured a safe, healthy indoor climate and underscores the high priority the Würth Group places on regional, innovative solutions.
Schwäbisch Hall Airport (also known as Adolf Würth Airport) is a German commercial airfield named after the entrepreneur Adolf Würth and operated by the Würth Group. 700 meters north of it lies Schwäbisch Hall-Weckrieden Airport, which has a grass runway. The two airfields are the only ones in Germany connected by a taxiway. This taxiway allows aircraft to taxi from one airfield to the other.
A joint project that scores points
Thanks to the active support of our cooperation partner, Filtration Group Industrial, Adolf Würth Airport was able to be equipped with a SilentCare mobile air filter.
According to Oliver Paul, Head of ATS Safety, the confined space in the tower at Adolf Würth Airport made it almost impossible to maintain minimum distances during the coronavirus pandemic. Since air traffic control is classified as essential, operations had to continue even during the lockdown. The SilentCare air filter, "Made in Germany," was able to fully demonstrate its capabilities and provide the necessary support. It was very important to the Würth Group to use a device from a regional supplier.

Virus-free air
- Normally, space in the tower is very limited, and the pandemic requires a required minimum distance to be maintained. Since air traffic control is classified as essential, operations had to be maintained even under pandemic conditions.
- When the tower is filled with a few employees and the aerosol concentration in the air rises, the SilentCare system does its job efficiently and reliably, ensuring clean, virus-free air. 99.995% of all airborne pollutants are reliably filtered out.
- Oliver Paul confirms that the SilentCare air filter will continue to be a loyal and reliable companion at high altitudes.
