Hydraulic ball valves
Hydraulic ball valves - Precise flow control within your systems
Hydraulic ball valves are essential components within systems that are used to divert the medium and enable the line to be shut off. They therefore ensure precise control of the flow at any point in time. FILCOM provides you with robust hydraulic ball valves that are designed for use in systems with high pressure ranges. These durable steel components also offer efficient and precise control.
Design of hydraulic ball valves
The characteristic feature of these shut-off bodies is the ball valve, which consists of a drilled-through ball element and a 90° rotating control element. The handle enables simple and intuitive control without having to dismantle individual components. The shut-off body can be fully opened or closed by rotating it through 90°, depending on the initial position. There are ball valves with both full and reduced passage, which is determined by the ball inserted into the inner area.
A major advantage of hydraulic ball valves is their flexible application, as they are not tied to a specific flow direction. This enables versatile use within the system and on the pipes. The ball can be made of different materials such as stainless steel, bronze or brass and the shut-off valves are usually equipped with additional sealing elements made of rubber or plastic. As a general rule, if the lever handle on the hydraulic ball valve is parallel to the pipe, the flow is unrestricted. On the other hand, the flow is blocked if it is aligned vertically.
Application and advantages of hydraulic ball valves
Thanks to their simple installation and uncomplicated control, hydraulic ball valves are used in various industries, including:
- Chemistry and petrochemistry
- Gas and oil industry
- Water supply
- Air conditioning and heating systems
- Beverage and food industry
An outstanding feature of these components is their ability to withstand high pressure conditions both in the system and on the pipeline. At FILCOM you will find high-quality hydraulic ball valves which, unless otherwise specified, can compensate for pressures of up to 500 bar. The temperature range that these components can tolerate is typically between -10 °C and a maximum of 100 °C.
High-pressure ball valves are suitable for both lubricating and liquid media. Please note that the maximum pressure that can be compensated varies depending on the version. Models with a larger DN and for larger pipe outside diameters generally have a lower maximum operating pressure. For example, a hydraulic ball valve with DN 4 and an outer pipe diameter of 10S mm can compensate up to 500 bar, while with an outer diameter of 30S and DN 25 the maximum possible pressure drops to 420 bar.
