Which KAESER Is the Aircenter SX the right compact compressed air station for your business?

The KAESER Aircenter SX Series combines a screw compressor, a refrigeration dryer, and a 200-liter compressed air receiver into a compact, ready-to-use compressed air station based on the “plug & work” principle. Available in four sizes ranging from 2.2 to 5.5 kW and with operating pressures of up to 8 to 11 bar, the Aircenter SX is ideal for commercial businesses, workshops, and smaller production areas with a constant demand for compressed air. All models are equipped with an IE3 drive motor and are controlled via the SIGMA CONTROL 3 M.

Which SX model is best for which application?

Choosing the right model depends on your compressed air needs and the required operating pressure. The SX 3 with 2.2 kW is the compact entry-level model for businesses with moderate compressed air needs—such as for individual pneumatic tools or blow-off tasks. The SX 4 with 3.0 kW is a versatile mid-range model that offers sufficient power for the simultaneous operation of multiple tools. The SX 6 with 4.0 kW is suitable for more power-intensive applications and is the first model in the series available with a maximum pressure of 11 bar. The SX 8 with 5.5 kW is the top-of-the-line model in the series and reliably supplies even demanding commercial operations with high compressed air requirements—also available with a maximum pressure of 11 bar.

Aircenter SX, SXC, or Aircenter SM—which series is right for you?

KAESER offers compact compressed air stations in several series that differ in performance, features, and applications. The SXC Series, featuring a sound-insulating PE enclosure and SIGMA CONTROL 3 S controller, is specifically designed for use in trade workshops and offers pressure levels up to 15 bar. The Aircenter SX features the more powerful SIGMA CONTROL 3 M with an AnyBus interface, making it particularly suitable for businesses that wish to integrate their compressed air supply into a higher-level control system. If you need more power, the Aircenter SM series, with 5.5 to 9.0 kW and a 270-liter tank, offers the next level for continuous industrial operation.

Features and Technology of the Aircenter SX

Every KAESER Aircenter SX is delivered as a complete, ready-to-use system. The oil-lubricated screw compressor block with a SIGMA PROFILE rotor pair and an IE3 motor, together with the integrated refrigeration dryer and the 200-liter compressed air receiver, is housed in a compact enclosure —with dimensions of just 590 × 1090 × 1560 mm (W × D × H). The sophisticated cooling concept with separate airflow ensures low operating temperatures even at high ambient temperatures. The SIGMA CONTROL 3 M monitors all operating parameters via a 5-inch color touchscreen and enables connection to SIGMA NETWORK or external control systems via the integrated Ethernet interface and optional AnyBus modules. The refrigeration dryer operates with the refrigerant R-513A (GWP 631) at a pressure dew point of +3 °C. The ECO-DRAIN condensate drain automatically disposes of accumulated condensate without any loss. A power connection (400 V / 3-phase / 50 Hz) and a compressed air line (G 3/4) are all that is needed for commissioning.

Designed and manufactured in Germany

All KAESER Aircenter SX units are developed and manufactured at the main plant in Coburg. Their compact design, featuring optimized airflow and precisely matched components, is the result of decades of experience in the manufacture of compressed air stations. Before shipment, each unit undergoes a test run lasting several hours under real operating conditions—ensuring that the Aircenter SX performs reliably in commercial applications from day one.
