TIVAL FF 4 GL pressure switch - DNV-certified for marine technology
Mechanical pressure switches with DNV approval and marine cable routing
The TIVAL FF 4 GL are specially designed for marine technology and DNV-certified (DNV TAA00002G6). With integrated marine cable routing and earthing clamp, they offer safe electrical installation even under extreme conditions. Available with DAH and PAH design for pressure ranges up to 250 bar.
FF 4 GL - DNV-certified pressure switches for maritime applications
The FF 4 GL is the special boat version of the TIVAL Pressure switch with DNV certification (classification society for ships). The GL designation refers to the Germanischer Lloyd certification. This variant combines either DAH diaphragm technology (up to 32 bar) or PAH piston technology (up to 250 bar) with special maritime requirements such as cable feed-through and earthing clamp for safe electrical installation on board.
Technical features & Construction
Depending on the version, the FF 4 GL has either DAH diaphragm or PAH piston technology, combined with marine accessories. The housing is made of robust die-cast silumin with a reinforced construction for marine conditions. A special cable gland enables safe electrical installation without a separate external cable core. An earthing clamp is integrated for potential equalization-compatible installation. The degree of protection is at least IP54, even in a damp sea-air environment.
Pressure ranges & areas of application
Depending on the basic type (DAH or PAH), the pressure ranges from 0.11 to 250 bar. In marine technology, DAH variants (up to 32 bar) are typically used for hydraulic systems and compressed air systems. PAH variants (up to 250 bar) can be used for intensive hydraulic applications. The marine certification (TAA00002G6) indicates the safety standard. With 8 available variants, FF 4 GL covers a wide range of maritime applications.
Standards & approvals
The FF 4 GL meets DNV TAA00002G6 certification - the highest maritime certification for classification societies. In addition to VDE 0660, IEC 337-1 and IEC 553-1, the DNV approval provides additional safety. IEC 60945 for maritime electrical engineering is taken into account. IP54-65 protection class offers protection against seawater splash water. PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) compliance is given. With EN 60947-5-5 electrical switch certification.
GL vs. standard FF 4 variants
While Standard FF 4 DAH and PAH are intended for industrial applications, GL specializes in maritime marine technology with DNV approval. GL has additional safety features such as cable landings and earthing clamps. GL combines proven DAH or PAH technology with maritime requirements. GL is the only approved choice for ships and off-shore applications. With 8 variants, GL is flexible for different pressure ranges.
