TIVAL FF 4 PAH high-pressure switch - Up to 250 bar for hydraulics
Mechanical high-pressure switch with plastic piston and throttle valve
The TIVAL FF 4 PAH are specialized high-pressure switches with plastic pistons and integrated throttle valve for pressures up to 250 bar. With the sturdy silumin connection thread (G 3/8"), they are perfect for hydraulic systems and compressed air applications with extreme pressures.
FF 4 PAH - High-pressure switch for hydraulics up to 250 bar
The FF 4 PAH is the high-pressure specialist among the TIVAL Pressure switches and can reliably withstand pressures of up to 250 bar. The piston technology (not diaphragm like DAH/DAY) with plastic piston and throttle valve enables reliable switching even under extreme pressure. With a G 3/8" silumin connection thread, the PAH is the first choice for hydraulics, pressing machines and high-pressure pumps.
Technical features & Construction
The FF 4 PAH uses a plastic piston design with a throttle valve for precise pressure switching even at high pressures. The robust silumin die-cast housing with G 3/8" connection thread made of silumin (not stainless steel) is designed for high pressure. The switch contacts are standard contacts. The pressure range is infinitely variable from 60 to 250 bar - significantly higher than all diaphragm versions. The protection class is IP54-IP65.
Pressure ranges & areas of application
With a maximum pressure range of up to 250 bar, the FF 4 PAH is ideal for hydraulics, pressing machines, high-pressure pumps and other high-pressure systems. The minimum response pressure of 60 bar is significantly higher than the diaphragm variants and is therefore not suitable for low-pressure applications. The piston technology enables constant switching accuracy even under extreme pressure. Special throttling limits switching overload in the event of rapid pressure changes.
Standards & approvals
The FF 4 PAH complies with VDE 0660, IEC 337-1 and IEC 553-1 standards like all FF 4 variants. The high-pressure capability up to 250 bar is certified and tested in the design. With an IP54-65 protection rating, the pressure switch offers protection in harsh industrial environments. EN 60947-5-5 electrical switch certification guarantees safe switching. Oil and compressed air compatibility is certified; not suitable for water.
PAH vs. membrane variants
While DAH(G) reaches up to 32 bar and DAY up to 16 bar, PAH offers up to 250 bar - over 7 times higher! The piston design of PAH differs fundamentally from the diaphragm technology of DAH/DAY. PAH is not suitable for water, only for oil and compressed air. AAG is more suitable for high temperatures. With only 3 variants available, PAH specializes in high-pressure hydraulics - the right choice for extreme pressure.
