Which KAESER screw compressor is right for your business?

Choosing the right screw compressor depends on your compressed air needs and the required operating pressure. The SX Series, with power ratings from 2.2 to 5.5 kW, is suitable for trades and small businesses with moderate compressed air needs—such as for pneumatic tools, blow-off applications, or painting work. The SM Series, with power ratings from 5.5 to 9 kW, is designed for continuous operation in production and manufacturing and, with the SM 13 model, features a particularly energy-efficient IE4 drive motor. The SK Series with 11 to 15 kW covers the mid-range industrial sector and is also available as a high-pressure variant with up to 15 bar. The ASK Series, with power ratings from 15 to 22 kW, reliably supplies compressed air to large industrial consumers with high flow rates.

The pressure rating determines the application profile: Models with max. 8 bar meet standard workshop requirements. Variants with max. 11 bar are suitable for applications requiring higher pressure, such as pressure testing or longer supply lines. Models with a maximum of 12 to 15 bar meet industrial requirements such as those for laser machines or high-pressure sandblasting.

SIGMA CONTROL 3 M – Intelligent Control System for All Standard Screw Compressors

All KAESER standard screw compressors in the SX, SM, SK, and ASK series are controlled via the SIGMA CONTROL 3 M. The 5-inch color touchscreen clearly displays all operating parameters and enables intuitive operation. Via the integrated ANYbus interface, the compressors can be integrated into higher-level control systems such as the KAESER SIGMA AIR MANAGER 4.0. The control system automatically monitors all relevant operating parameters and optimizes energy efficiency in conjunction with the KAESER i.Comp 8/9 compressor block and the AIRBOX.2 heat recovery system.

Recommended accessories for safe operation

KAESER standard screw compressors are shipped without integrated compressed air treatment and without a compressed air receiver. To ensure reliable operation that protects the equipment, we recommend the following components for every system: A Compressed Air Tanks is absolutely necessary—screw compressors should not be operated without an air receiver, as it absorbs pressure spikes, reduces cycling frequency, and ensures a steady supply of compressed air. A Cyclone Separator (Water separator) separates condensate and coarse contaminants immediately after the compressor. A Refrigeration Dryers lowers the pressure dew point and protects pipes, tools, and machinery from corrosion caused by moisture. For particularly sensitive applications, we also recommend a Compressed Air Filtration to remove residual oil and fine particles.
