TIVAL FF 4 DAY pressure switch - Specialized for demineralized water
Mechanical pressure switches with polyamide connection for demineralized water
The TIVAL FF 4 DAY pressure switches are specialized for demineralized water and offer plastic connection threads made of polyamide. With pressure ranges up to 16 bar, they are perfect for heat pumps, heating systems and other water pressure applications.
FF 4 DAY - Pressure switch for water and heating technology
The FF 4 DAY is a specialized version of the TIVAL Pressure switch optimized for demineralized water and heating applications. The plastic connection made of polyamide (G 3/8") makes this variant corrosion-resistant to water. The maximum pressure range of 16 bar is perfectly suited to typical heating pressures. The FF 4 DAY is the choice for all water-dominated applications with moderate pressures.
Technical features & Construction
Like the DAH(G), the FF 4 DAY has a Perbunan diaphragm with a direct switching mechanism. The special feature is the plastic connection made of polyamide (G 3/8") instead of a silumin metal thread. The housing is still made of die-cast silumin with IP54-65 protection. The switch contacts are standard contacts (not gold-plated like DAH-G). The pressure range is infinitely adjustable from 0.11 to 16 bar, significantly lower than DAH(G) due to the plastic components.
Pressure ranges & areas of application
With the lower maximum pressure of just 16 bar, the DAY is ideal for heating systems, heat pumps and hot water systems. The pressure switch is particularly suitable for well and high-pressure pumps. The low response pressure of 0.11 bar also enables control of low-pressure pipes. Demineralized water is the operating fluid - not suitable for oil or air. The switching accuracy is typically ±0.1 bar for standard versions.
Standards & approvals
The FF 4 DAY complies with the same standards as the FF 4 DAH: VDE 0660, IEC 337-1 and IEC 553-1. The electrical switches are certified to EN 60947-5-5. With IP54 or IP65 protection, the pressure switch offers adequate protection in heating systems. The switching capacity is 230 V AC, 3 A for resistive loads. Drinking water and demineralized water are certified; corrosion resistance due to plastic connection.
DAY vs. DAH(G) - When which variant?
While DAH(G) is universally suitable for oil, water and air, DAY specializes in demineralized water with a plastic connection. DAY has lower maximum pressures (16 bar instead of 32 bar) and is therefore more cost-effective. DAY is not suitable for oil or compressed air. For high temperatures up to +200 °C, select the AAG variant instead of DAY. You will find the right solution for 3 to 5 pressure switch variants at FILCOM.
