Why is the pressure dew point so important?

The dew point in the compressed air tells you how dry your compressed air really is. Simply explained: The pressure dew point indicates the temperature at which moisture condenses from the compressed air. If the dew point is +3 °Ctd (typical for a refrigeration dryer), condensation forms in the lines below 3 °C. With an adsorption dryer, the value should be -40 °Ctd or lower. If the residual moisture is too high, there is a risk of corrosion in the pipe network, defective valves and quality problems in production. Regularly measuring the pressure dew point protects your system - and saves you money. By the way: In combination with the Measurement of the compressed air quality and a Screen recorder DS 500 creates a seamless monitoring system.

For permanent dew point measurement on compressed air dryers, CS Instruments offers four dew point sensors for every application: The FA 500 is the compact all-rounder with display, alarm relay and 4-20 mA output - ideal for retrofitting. The FA 510 and FA 515 also offer Modbus RTU and optional Ethernet for connection to control systems. The FA 550 in a robust die-cast aluminum housing is the choice for harsh industrial environments. All dew point sensors are pressure-resistant up to 50 bar (special version up to 500 bar) and extremely long-term stable. Measuring range: -80 to +20 °Ctd for adsorption dryers, -20 to +50 °Ctd for refrigeration dryers. Developed and manufactured in VS-Tannheim.

The DP 500 and DP 510 mobile dew point measuring devices are designed for service technicians and maintenance engineers who need to check the dew point in compressed air quickly and precisely on site. Everything comes in a sturdy carrying case: measuring device with 3.5" touchscreen, measuring chamber with quick-release coupling and Matching accessories. The integrated data logger stores up to 100 million measured values - ideal for standard-compliant documentation. The DP 510 also offers a second sensor input for external probes. All humidity values (g/m³, mg/m³, ppm, %rh, °Ctdatm) are calculated automatically. Measuring range down to -80 °Ctd, accuracy ±0.5 °Ctd. Made in Germany by CS Instruments.
