TIVAL pressure switch series - overview and technical differences

The TIVAL FF 4 pressure switches are mechanical control pressure switches that detect precise pressure changes and switch reliably. With different versions for different applications, TIVAL offers a solution for every pressure range - from the low pressure range of 0.11 bar to the high pressure range of up to 250 bar.

Technical features & Construction

The TIVAL pressure switches are based on proven diaphragm or piston technology with high switching accuracy. Depending on the series, they are available with Perbunan diaphragms, stainless steel corrugated tubes or plastic pistons. All mechanical pressure switches have robust metal housings and reliable switching contacts. The various connection threads (G 1/4", G 3/8", G 1/2") allow flexible installation. High-pressure versions use reinforced piston designs for pressures up to 250 bar.

Pressure ranges & areas of application

TIVAL pressure switches cover pressure ranges from 0.11 to 250 bar and are ideal for compressors, pumps, hydraulic systems and compressed air technology. The low pressure range up to 32 bar is covered by DAH(G) and DAY versions. Special versions are available for demineralized or demineralized water. The high-pressure range up to 250 bar is served by the PAH series. Temperature ranges up to +200 °C are possible with stainless steel versions.

Standards & approvals

The FF 4 series complies with international standards such as VDE 0660, IEC 337-1 and IEC 553-1. Special variants are DNV-certified (GL series) or VdS-certified (for fire protection and sprinkler systems). ATEX variants (EN 60079) are certified for hazardous areas and can be used in the mining, chemical and gas industries. All designs meet high safety requirements and have been tested several times.
